Our first Sunday at the meal program is coming this Sunday!

Please bring potatoes scrubbed, but not poked, to the kitchen by 1:00 p.m. Baked meatloaf, desserts, salad, should arrive ready to serve by 4:30. Canned green beans can be brought in commercial can sizes or money can be donated.

Monetary donations should made by check Capuchin Community Services (please indicate 1st Sunday Meal in the memo), and Don will purchase through his vendor  Please be mindful of the need for volunteers to serve food onto the trays and to deliver food via Covid protocol to the diners.

Please plan to attend MICAH's annual Public Meeting Thursday, October 20 at 6:00 p.m.  

MICAH is Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope, and St. Ben's is a participating congregation. The theme of this year's meeting will be "MICAH Rising: To Build a Healthy & Just Community. For further information, see Jeff Sweetland.

You can change the life of a child. Become a Rising Stars tutor and help at-risk students strengthen their academic skills. The only requirements needed are care, compassion and patience.

Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death for people ages 10-34 and the 4th leading cause of death for people 35-54. The overall suicide rate in the U.S. has increased by 31% since 2001.

When someone says he or she is thinking about suicide, or says things that sound as if the person is considering suicide, it can be very upsetting. You may not be sure what to do to help, whether you should take talk of suicide seriously, or if your intervention might make the situation worse. Taking action is always the best choice. Meal Program Update: Numbers at the meal program are getting higher. In view of this please bring donations that are up to your pre-covid donations. Also, this coming Sunday is Labor Day weekend and some of our servers may be out of town. If you are in town and can serve, your presence would be appreciated.
